Get To Know- Gorilla Glass..!!

You probably heard the term Gorilla Glass it's on every spec sheet of a high-end or mid range smart phone but what exactly is Gorilla Glass. Most of us know that it's not made of Gorillas and for those who don't you know now.
Gorilla Glass is set up on top of the displays of or smartphones, why not the regular Soda-lime glass.
the reasons are as follows.

  1. Easier to clean.
  2. Scratch resistance or harder to scratch.
  3. Harder to break.
  4. Thinner
  5. More flexible

It does all of these while maintaining outstanding optical clarity. At CES 2014 they showed off their latest achievements as they demonstrated the impact resistance of Gorilla Glass3 by by hitting regular Soda-lime glass and piece of Aluminium(Al) and Gorllia Glass 3 by a ball bearing. A pressure test and flexibility test.
And another thing they have in bag is Anti-microbial Gorilla Glass with out hurting roughness or clarity of the glass they have developed an agent to keep the glass clean and protect the touch surface from odor or stain causing bacteria.

But we have all seen Gorilla Glass break and have seen a lot of drop test hammer and knife test on YouTube, and it's breaks ..
But the objective is not to make a indestructible piece of Glass it is to make devices be more slimmer lighter more flexible while being durable and able to take hits and not break down easily..
and i according to me it's doing the job real fine and if you have any questions about this leave it in the comments section and be sure to give it a +1 if you like it..

Red HTC One M8.. Image leaked

OnePlus One. CyanogenMod 11s

Finally after teasing the phone for months and releasing one bit at a time, OnePlus announces the One.
according to the leaks it was supposed to have beast of specs on a considerable price, and that's what happened.
It has a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801, 3GB RAM, 13MP SONY IM214 Sensor camera, showing-off a 5.5 inch 1080p display with a pixel density of 401ppi. and a 5Mp front facing camera

OnePlus One is running CyanogenMod 11s based on Android 4.4Kitkat, and the company has worked closely with the Cynogen to release a special minimal and flat UI. there are also a bunch of custom themes and icons specially made for this device.
It has a really nice slim and sleek design, power key on the side and that's where it should be it weights only 163grams and the company claims it the lightest 5.5inch smartphone in the world.the speakers are on the bottom and the word is JBL helped for their fine tuning.
It comes in two versions 16GB which only comes in white and a 64GB which only comes in black and even with that difference in memory there is only $50 difference in the price unlike other devices like the iPhone. and speaking of iPhone in the price on a 64GB iphone you can buy 2 One plus One and still have $150 left in your pocket..

the 16 Gb version cost only $299 and $349 for the 64 GB version.
You can swap the back cover but cannot remove the 3,100mAh battery, there are also some nice battery cover options.
And there are a bunch of other software feature  that Cyanogen added to this device like an option to have one screen capacitive keys or not..

The OnePlus one will launch in Q2 which is now with Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK and the USA getting it first. Sadly not coming to my India any time soon..

there is a Hands-On video of the device by Android Authority and link to that is at the bottom.
and in don't forget to giv it a +1 after you read it and if you have any questions leave it in the comments section down below..

Samasung Galaxy S5- Review..!!

This phone looks very similar to the Galaxy S4 last year with spec bumps and the specs are very close to the HTC One M8..

Hardware Or Design

It has a 5.1inch full HD display slightly bigger than S4's and with slightly bigger bezels. It has the typical Samsung squared off look with the power button on the right side of the device and that is where it should be unlike that of the HTC One you have to struggle every time to to reach it. The volume rockers are on the left side.
And while talking about the Galaxy S5's hardware you can't just not talking about the most of the people aren't a fan of , it has little dots or dimples on the whole back turns out this is easier to grip and hold in the hand than the slippery metal on the HTC One M8, while the HTC one is made of metal and is heavier the Galaxy S5 is made of plastic and is lighter and easier to hold.

It has a removable back like every other Samsung device and you open the back you can see the 2800mAh battery and see the Micro SD card slot which supports a 128GB of memory and the thing you might notice after taking the back out is the seal on the battery cover and that is there to make this device IP67 certified
6 stands for dust proof and 7 for the water resistant for limited period of time, and while looking at the seal you'll see that it doesn't covers the speaker and speaking of the speaker it sound alright but not as loud as the M8 but i guess there is nothing that can sound like M8.

And on the top is the 3.5mm jack and an IR blaster to control your TV and other stuff and on the bottom there is a 3.0micro USB port covered with a flap and the flap is on of the thing that i don't like about this device but they had to do that to keep this phone IP67 certified, and every time you unplug the charger it reminds you to close the flap every single time.
there is a fingerprint sensor on this device as most of us expected it to be, it's in between the capacitive buttons so it is the in the home button or the other way round, and i have to say it doesn't works well for it to work you have to swipe your finger perfectly vertically along with the center of the pad, you don'r just put your finger on top you have to swipe.it it doesn't works if you don't swipe you finger exact vertically with the right speed with requires holding the phone with one hand and swiping with the other.

And when i unlock my phone with the scanner it's works well but after sometime when i unlock my device again it doesn't even asks for a print just swipe and you'll see the home screen. There is also a Heart rate monitor just below the primary camera and we'll talk about that down below it come in four colors .

Software and Specifications

It has a 1.9GHz Quad-core and a 1.3 GHz Quad-core processor with  2GB of RAM a 5.1inch 1080p display, a 16MP camera. and a 2MP secondary camera.
It's running touch Wiz on top of Android 4.4 and as i have told you before i don't like skins on top of Android and touch Wiz isn't my favorite but it's better than the previous versions they have cleaned it up and made some nice changes to it.

The thing i hate the most about touch Wiz is the bloop bloop bloop sound effect and i turn them off as sson as i touch my phone the first time.
And the phone lags when you open gallery and it is really bad for an high-end flagship phone it's not a good sign but other than that it is a monster performer and very responsive, can keep up with you.

There is another feature or app on the touch Wiz called my magazine like Blink feed or Google and it sit on the left of your home screen it gives you the news and stories and uses the whole 5.1 inch display feels really cool while using it.

The messed up settings app in the previous version of Touch Wiz, In the process on fixing it Samsung messed it again there are more than 60 option in the settings menu and it can be arranged in list or grid which one fits you.

If you like the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3 you are going to love the S5 ..

There is another feature called Tool box that lets you store any five apps in the bubble you can scroll around which comes in handy most of the time because no matter where you just tap the bubble and you can launch your app..

It has a 16MP camera and shoots really nice photos it is one of the top five smart phone cameras out there, the images it shoot are high resolution filled with details they are very saturated and colorful in pretty much any condition.it shoots 4K vediio and tons of other options like HDR and selective focus which does the pretty much same thing the the dual camera feature does in the HTC M8 it still looks artificial it's OK i can live with that.

There is a heart rate monitor below the camera with works through S heath and when you put your finger on it for a few seconds it tell your heart rate, i don't know how true it is because i don't have another heart rate monitor to compare it to  or cross check both so we can assume it works fine..

And this is it, over all it is one of the amazing devices in the market right now and if you like Touch Wiz you can never go wrong with it and if yo don't it's still a great choice.
If you have any question related to this device leave it in the comments section and if you like it don't forget to give it a +1

                                                                           Peace...

Rumor Mill..!!

Motorola Moto E..

alleged specs of the yet to be announced Motorola Moto E leaked out. When launched, the smartphones will slot below the Moto G in the manufacturer's product range.

Leaked spec of the Moto E include a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of built-in memory, but it should be expandable because 4GB will not get you anywhere.
It's has a 4.3inch display with a yet to be known resolution, a 5Mp camera, 1900mAh battery and running 4.4 Kitkat .and according to the measures we can see in the picture it's going to be thinner than both MotoG and MotoX.
Ihe Moto E is tipped to arrive in the coming weeks on the Mexican wireless carrier Telcel with the model number XT1021, it's price is certain to be lower than that of Moto G.

Plastic HTC One M8

With the launch of the M8 HTC is getting really hard competition with Samsung's Flagship the Galaxy S5. so HTC decided to drop the price for the M8... Wait don't get too cocky. they decided to drop the price down  and replace the current metal from it's with plastic, it's going to have the same set of specifications just with a changed body.
and i kind of have mixed feeling about this because M8's design and the way it feels in the hand is one of the biggest selling points of the phone so t can turn into a bad decision, but on the other side there are many people who want to get their hands-on the new M8 and can't because it's out of their budget so having a low budget flagship device can also boost the sales.

That's is it if you have a leak or a rumor that's been up for quiet a while about any device it'll will be crime if you don't share it and the easiest way to do it is drop it in the comments section..

                                                                    Peace...

Get To Know- Wireless Charging..!!

It is not secret that we all hate the cables and fragile connectors use to battery recharging. But all that is going away and thanks to modern technology, Wireless charging is becoming a thing and we are very close to saying good to all those cables.

What is Wireless Charging?

Wireless charging is the process of charging your phone without wires ( yeah, the sentence you just read is what it should be-charging with absolutely no wires).
But it is not the case you have to connect your wireless charger to a plug and to charge our phone you place your phone on the charging plate, it won't work until your phone is touching the surface so you don't have the freedom you thought you would have with wireless charging.
And that is a some very negative point about the wireless charging the very reason that is keeping us to completely switch from cables, The Range of charger is limited . Because there are time when i am on the phone talking to somebody but the battery is about to die. so what do i do? i go and put the charging cable in USB jack of the device and keep talking while it's charging.
That is what you can't do with those charging plates. And like every other there are some Pros and Cons of wireless charging.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  1. Convenience you can have it on you working desk, car dashboard, coffee shop and when you place you phone on charging plate.. BOOM it's charging..
  2. No more or not as much in use Micro USB slot because they are fragile and get in the way of making  a device more water and dust proof.

Cons

  1. It's expensive manufacturers just can't include a wireless charger in the box with out increasing the price.
  2. Inefficiency- not as fast as cable charging and make the device heat up .
  3. Limited Range as mentioned above
now after reading all that about wireless charging you might be wondering..

How does this works?

It is simple physics for those know a little physics or have studied it  in high school should understand it by the word "Electromagnetic Induction" and those who didn't get it i am going to explain.
As in the word "Electro" stands for Electricity and Magnetic for magnet now these things are much more related to each other than they seem. For Ex- A current carrying coil wrapped around an iron core is called electromagnet, because it uses Alternating Current(AC) Electricity to generate a fluctuating magnetic field. Reversing the situation and applying a magnetic field with fluctuating polarity will generate AC electricity this process is called Electromagnetic Induction. This is the basis of wireless Charging and is the same process of charging you electric toothbrush...

Standards of Wireless Charging

There are two main standards of wireless charging, while they both rely on a power transmission pad and a receiver either inside or attach to your device. but they don't wok with each other.

Qi

Backed by Wireless Power Consortium is by far the most popular among consumers right now.

PMA

Backed by Power Matters Alliance is likely to continue to gain support from corporate organisations and governments with their cloud based software feature that allows these entities to better manage theri wireless charging network

Rezence

Is yet another group backed by Alliance for Wireless Charging and their standards looks super exciting and promises to enable more convenient solutions by dramatically increased range and multiple wireless charging while maintaining the efficiency, the recently closed a standard consolidation deal with PMA..

And Google is backing up PMA and we all know that one day Google with rule the world PMA wins .

but no matter what we all agree on one thing the wireless charging is the thing of future and as soon as the fix the range problem with maintaining or increasing efficiency cables will become ancient..

if you have and questions related to this you can leave them in the comments section down below and i'll be happy to answer it and don't forget to share it who you think might benefit from this...

                                                                    Peace...

HTC One M8- Review..!!

HTC One M8
HTC One M8 is one of the long awaited phones this year and when you think about the HTC One series like the previous M7  the first think that pops into mind is the body of the device, unibody Aluminium(Al) the way it feels in the hand. that was one of the biggest selling points of the phone.

Hardware Or Design

The M8 is no exception, the same Aluminium(Al) unibody design and the front facing speakers. But there is another device that meets the same level of specifications named the Galaxy S5 both the devices have almost same internals which makes the looks design and how the device feels in the more important than ever..
and they both have a lot of difference in the design..

If you have seen the promos and ads of the M8 it is all about the design and the build quality of the device and it is where the phone excels. it is the same material of the old HTC One but  little bit bigger a little bit more round and a few few different colors. Gunmetal Grey, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold, A very Apple inspired move you can say.
Apple inspired Move

Comparing it to the previous HTC One the M8 has even more metal on it, the previous one had some poly-carbonate on the sides and the sides were also flat which made the phone to fit in the hand and because you get something to grip on. M8 has those side covered with metal and the side are more rounded or curved you can say, now there is no edge to hold on to it is the slippery Aluminum.

The display of the device has changed in the section of size and quality both it is a 5- inch 1080p LCD display, and it is one of the most amazing display on a device.

Headphone and Micro USB jack
On the left of the device is your SIM card slot and on the right side you have memory card slot which supports upto 128GB.. Yes you read it right 128GB and just below the memory card slot there are the volume rockers. On top right side there is the power button which is hard to reach according to me it should have been on the right side of the phone because you have to move the device a lot to reach it and most of the time i found myself using it with two hands,  but it's still better than last time. and the whole top of the device is covered with the IR blaster so you can turn ON and OFF your TV with an built-in app. on the bottom there is you 2.0 micro USB port for data and charging and with it is the 3.5mm headphone jack.
SIM Card slot

While talking about the HTc One series you can't forget the front facing speakers, we all loved that in the previous device and i am sure everybody who uses the M8 is going to love love them, they are louder than before, clear than before, and again they are front facing to better that any other device's speakers.
Every thing mentioned above is just an update of the things we already had in the One nothing new.

But there is a thing once you have noticed you cannot un-notice it without asking questions, let me give you a Hint- It's the number of cameras, it's different than normal,  the M8 has three cameras two on the back and one on the front.

HTC got a lot of feed back from the old HTC one's camera the 4 MP ultrapixel camera a lot of posoitive but also a lot negative but HTC decided to keep that camera so it's the same 4 Ultrapixel camera and the 2MP depth sensor with two tone LED flash. the Dual-camera feature is used for couple of interesting software effects..
Dual-Camera

The camera shutter is very fast so you can capture more photos faster it is the closest thing i have experienced to instant shutter on any Android device. In the manual mode which let's you change ISO and exposure and other thing and actually save those setting and as a custom camera feature as long as you know what you are doing , and even if you don't you can use the Auto mode ..
the Dual-Camera feature works after you have taken a shot and you look at it in the gallery you chose to edit it, you'll see some effects on the bottom these are called the dual-camera effects which only appears if shot is compatible, the most well known one is the u-focus which when you tap the part of the photo you want in focus it'll blur the rest of the photo.to the untrained eye and on the small phone screen this will look great, but a lot of time you can see the blur seem pretty artificial and sometime it doesn't even work for this effect to work properly you have to have a very obvious object and a very obvious background. But these are just some software hiccups which can be fixed through updates, if you do every thing right you can get some amazing photos.
There are some other effect that adds effects only to the background and makes the object highlight more.
and can make the image look 3D which moves through the Gyroscope of the phone.
Dual-Camera effect

But the real photo taking experience isn't also that great.it crushes the dark and blows out the highlights every time, it has a pretty nice but a pretty dull exposure sometimes the photos are just under exposed and the resolution is no high, obviously it's coming from a 4MP camera so they look nice on the phone's small screen unless you are looking it on a big screen of printing it that can really take the fun out of it.
More background effects

And you can't ignore that fact that it's front facing camera is of higher resolution than the back camera. but the photos of the 4MP primary camera are just fine to go with unless you share your photos more than just the web.

Software And Specifications

It is running the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat the latest version of Android with HTC sense 6 on top of it the latest version of the HTC's skin.and it's the greatest skin that i have ever seen on top of any Android device, i still love stock Android and i would still take that any day of the week. but the sense 6 really feels like an adjustment to Android rather than a layer on top of it.

Performance is also smooth and fast opening and closing apps getting into your daily user interface super quick and very very responsive, which it should be.
On-screen buttons
HTC has given it a very nice touch to the notification bar, it's color changes depending on where you are in the phone if you are on the home screen or the lock screen the notification bar is clear but in certain HTC apps the color changes to match the color of the app and it does it quiet smoothly all the HTC apps that come with the phone have their one color on the notification bar and in the other apps that you download
it will be grey so it's nice..
It has on screen buttons with software home and multitasking button is on the bottom of the screen.. remember the part where i was talking about the hard to reach power button HTC knows the problem and they have come up with a solution.

You can double tap the phone to turn the screen on you can swipe down when the screen is off that will take you to the voice calling which is unfortunately really bad and is not connected to Google now and that is the reason it's really bad , swipe left to bring home screen up if you are in an app and you lock the phone and swipe left to unlock it'll take you to the home screen  not to the app, and same is with the right swipe that will always bring you to blink feed, if you wan t to get to the app you were working on you have to swipe up that'll bring you to where you are last. so the only time you have to reach the power button is to lock the device..
It has a non-removable 2600mAh battery, it bigger than the last One but not that big but it can still you can easily get two days out of it with light use..it is really good at saving battery even if the 5-inch display is on nd you are playing game it doesn't just drain all the battery like most devices..

spec sheet taken from:http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_(m8)-6074.php

So this is it this is all i have to say about the HTC One M8 it is a great  device with exceptional set of skills if you love the way unibody Metal devices feel with in the and you are not a professional photographer the HTC One might the the One for you..
Feel free to leave comments if you have some concerns or questions drop them in the comments sections below and i'll be happy to answer them..

According to a tweet by evleaks, the HTC One M8 will have a new glamour red version available on Verizon . Currently, the phone is offered in three colors- Gunmetal Grey, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold.

Official Project Ara Module Developers Kit.. Release..

Google officially released it's first Project Ara Module Developers Kit (MDK). The MDK gives a better understanding of the platform and provides developers with guidelines for creating components for the modular smartphones.

The MDK documentation gives us a glimpse at the three different Ara skeleton sizes - mini, medium and large. As expected, large skeletons will be able to accommodate more Ara modules than smaller ones. Goggle will be the sole provider of Ara skeletons for the time being.

Project Ara devices will be avaiable in different physical layouts. Users will be able to choose from touchscreen only setup, as well as options with physical QWERTY keyboard, or even a number pad.

In order to assume uniformly in Ara devices' basic functionality, the MDK features guidelines for the most common modules such as processors, display units, Wi-Fi chips, batteries etc. the cover even the physical appearance and measures of the module. Third party add-ons will not need to adhere to the guidelines.

Google plans to release a series of Ara MDK's this year, and hold a series of Developers Conferences (the first one kicks off next week). The first Ara Phones could hit the shelves as the first quarter of the next year alongside a dedicated marketplace for additional modules. As we know already, Google targets a low entry price tags for devices.

HTC One M8- First Impressions..!!

HTC One M8 is one of the most awaited phones of this year right with the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Upcoming i phone 6 with bigger display.. and speaking of big displays and increased sizes HTC One M8 has it's own updates..

Hardware Or Design

We loved the last HTC one because of it's Metal unibody design and front facing boom speakers and the M8 is no exception it has the same front facing speakers and the metal unibody..so it resembles the old HTC One a lot but there are three main differences that distinguish between the two..
  1. Display- it's larger 5.0inch 1080p display same awesome sharpness and rightness.. but it now has on-screen buttons.
  2. New HTC One is taller..so if you put both the devices side by side you can easily spot the difference..
  3. It's lot more rounded off, they rounded the metal from the back of the phone to all the way to the sides so there is no poly-carbonate on the side like the previous one, the corners are more rounded and you can say the entire device is a bit more round ..

and because it's metal it screams quality
talking about the hardware i couldn't stop but notice the number of cameras, it's got two cameras, the one we already know the 4.1 MP or you can say UP(Ultra Pixel)and above that there is another camera..
which is am gonna talk about down below..

Software and Specifications

The specs are pretty high-end as well nothing too overly extreme here it's Got the Snapdragon801 quad-core 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM running the latest version of Android 4.4 with HTC Sense 6 on top of it.

HTC calls it the Dual Camera system and what it does is that it allows you to refocus the picture after you take it. so if you have some thing interesting in the foreground and the background you can refocus on  what you want to see and it'll add a soft nice blur to the other area ..
but this Dual-camera API is also public so i am excited to see what developers are going to do with it.

but a lot of people are still bummed to see the the primary camera is still 4.1 MP and has lower resolution than the front camera which is 5MP.

HTC sense has been redesigned and clearly this is the most cleanest most modern look of the HTC sense we have seen yet it is faster smoother and i am liking this design more than i did the last one, i still prefer stock Android over anything else but this is also nice.
It still has the best speakers on any phone .. and there is Google PLay Edition of the HTC ONe M8 one the way so stock Android with the new HTCe one's body like heaven on earth..

i still have many things like the battery so all that is going to come in the review which will come soon..

                                                                  Peace...
