Galaxy.Gear Review!!!..

Galaxy Gear ...

It's the end of 2013 and now smart watches are beginning a thing and this is one of them it's Samsung's smart watch or the Galaxy gear like they are calling it.. you might have seen many advertisements for this so now let's see what it can do ..
Many people think that this is the first one in it's form factor it's not first one was the Sony's Smart watch which didn't got this much of attention ...

Design or Hardware

The Galaxy Gear look just slightly different from a regular watch, but Samsung is calling the next big thing, this is their first wearable tech so they have decided to put it on your wrist as an accessory to your phone that will connect via bluetooth. 

As a watch it is quiet solid well build with a solid rigid plastic band all the way around and a pretty nice design that is adjustable to fit any wrist size and the watch part looks good and doesn't stand or or look ridiculous as you think

The only button on the whole device is the power button on the right side which  can be programmed to do certain things when you double tap it and surrounding the whole face is metal .which feels and looks really good.

Talking about the face it as a 1.6inch OLED display with 320x320 resolution and 275ppi , great bright vivid color and has and outdoor mode with enhanced brightness so you can see it everywhere and excellent viewing angles so you can see it indoors outdoors pretty much anywhere you want it's a really nice display... On the back there are pins that connect to dock which is necessary for the Galaxy Gear it comes in the box and you need for the NFC pairing setup for the first time and every time you charge it .it has a lovely leather stitching ..

Dock and Camera

On the bottom of the watch there is a metal band that sits below your wrist this is the only part of the watch that feels bulky and sometimes gets int they whenever i rest my wrist on something or trying to type kind of gets annoying there is a reason for this metal piece here there are actually more electronics in there ,when you hold it up in the light you can see a wire going through the band going down in to the metal clasp..

that metal clasp contains the speaker ,so you don't have to hold the watch up to your face like a weirdo to talk on the phone you can just talk and it'll hear you.

The camera of this watch is located on the band of the wrist which will come on the outer side of your wrist when you wear it . it has a 2MP sensor which can shoot real nice photos for a watch , you can also record up to 15 second of 720p video and the microphone quality, it is meant for phone call so  it is pretty good ..

Specifications and Software

This is and android device but sometimes it doesn't feels like it thanks for the Samsung's skin on the top that let's only one app to show per page, but it is powered by single core 800MHz processor with 512GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage and a 315mAh battery ..

Because of the small battery it can only promise one day may be two if you don't use it much but you have to charge it every night which for a watch person is not a very nice thing , you don't have to charge your regular watch every night..

The question that people ask the most is what can the galaxy gear do when they see it.

1. It can give you notification from your phone but it'll only tell you that you have notification, to see the notification you have to get you phone out of you packet..which is point less.
2. It has some built in apps like the Samsung mail app and Samsung stock messenger but not every onr uses those..
3. S voice which in theory should let you text and call people but it is still S voice and it cannot get everything right..
4. You can take voice memos and save them in your phone which is nice..
5. You also have the gallery it lets your shot photos transfer to your phone 
6. There is a media controller which is actually useful it lets you control volume and media play back on your phone and on any app your phone is running ..
7.  There is a Pedometer to keep track of your fitness and distance traveled and calories burned but it is not very accurate every time you move your hand it is a step so you ca walk without standing according to the galaxy gear.. 
8. then there is call logs, contacts and the dialer so you can place and receive calls on the speaker on your watch which Samsung is showing in commercial and i got to say this feature works perfectly.

There is a mini app store that Samsung has started for Galaxy Gear and list of apps in it are not very large and there are not much category but then again it is a watch.and there are some rally nice apps for this device that work perfectly like the Watch Face app that lets me change Galaxy Gears face but other than it i don't see any useful app..

It is a growing store and it will take some time to become great..

This watch is only compatible with only Samsung's Android device running Android 4.3 or later which is not a high number..and that is the biggest limitation of the Galaxy Gear ...

The Galaxy Gear is a really confusing device don't know what kind of people will like this or want to buy it i am a watch person and is can can i don't really want to charge my watch every night .. i don't see any i have to have this feature .. but if you think you just want a smart watch no matter what you can buy it but i would still recommend to atleast wait for the Galaxy gear 2 and the app store to grow to get your money worth...
