Get To know - Image Burn-in

Image burn-in happens when a single or same image is shown on a CRT TV for a long period of time, it leaves a stamp or slightly diminished figure of the previously displayed image and that ghost  of the image never leaves once it's there it's there for life even if you turn of the screen you can see the image.

This is caused only in CRT displays mainly CRT desktop monitors, because TV's don't show a single image for a long period of time. To remove this problem Screen Savers were made screen savers show different images or random animation or graphics keeping the screen from showing the same image.

Read more about displays on the Get Know Displays video or the Article link to both is at the bottom.
