At CES 2014 and here everyone seems to got a 4k TV Samsung has got one LG has one Panasonic has got one even companies that i didn't know make TV have a 4k TV here ,But What About shooting 4K What about actually shooting and getting your video from the camera to your TV, It doesn't matter much right know if you go above 4K ,there is a 8K TV already.. but nothing shoots 8K ..
4K shooting options at CES ..
- Samsung Galaxy Note 3..IF you have seen my review of Note 3 this phone can shoot 4k ,the resolution is ok and it definitely shoots 4K but it's has comparatively small sensor from other 4k dedicated cameras because it's just a phone and the video is shoot has slightly lower bit rates ,means a little bit lower density of information and this phone starts at around $600 off contract
- Canon C500 and the Canon 1DC the, C500 is a great example of what i am talking about when i say it is not convenient to shoot 4k right now ,This camera is a beast with a beast of a lens , the C500 will shoot 4k but not in internal storage ,you need a second an external recorder that can record 60fps through a single cable or a 120fps over a pair of cables ,but look at how much gear you have to use here on this camera to shoot 4k ,it is incredible quality and it has a massive dynamic range and a very high bit rate ,but this step is around 43000$..
1DC is aDSLR that shoots 4k with a full frame sensor and is probably the the most reasonable really high quality 4k option for a lot of people who consider shooting with it ,it takes SD cards it shoots 4K at 24fps but just the body of this camera with out this awesome lens will cost you $12000 .. - Sony FS700 is a great camera but it can only shoot 4K when you add a massive recorder on it's back, it doesn't shoots 4k internally so that makes this huge device slightly over $9000..
they have got another camera that we have seen on Amazon actually for bit and it is more comfortable and easier to shoot with it than the FS700 ,It is more compact and a few people are already shooting with it ,it shoots 4k in internal storage at 60fps so you don't need any extra cable of anything ,and it is around $5000 .. - $k Sony handy cam so the handy cam line is already famous for putting up the best video quality in the palm of the hand and it is easy to shoot with ,it has a 1inch sensor and it's a bit small and that may sacrifice dynamic range and low light performance ,but it's 4k shooting in very compact design that you can hold in your hand and it's price is much less than the other 4k dedicated camera options and it is going to be around $2000...and Sony is real proud of it and it is great to have the ability to shoot 4k and play it on your own 4k TV
Peace...
